Mr. Mohamed R. Chalabi
Director of International Banking
Mr. Chalabi began his career as an International Banking officer at Bankers Trust Company (now Deutsche Bank), New York, with a focus on international trade finance, project finance and loan syndication, successively. Later, he specialized in blocked funds currency swaps, sovereign debt conversion and other structured foreign exchange transactions in developing countries. Mr. Chalabi then worked as an asset manager focused on fixed income investments in emerging markets. In 2002, Mr Chalabi became CEO of Remesas Quisqueyana Inc., a New York based global money transmittal corporation licensed in 20 U.S. states and Spain with over 800 pay-in locations worldwide and a network of 3000 local currency pay-out locations in over 45 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean and the Philippines. In 2007, he joined Structured Asset Management Group, a unit of EFG International in Zurich that specializes in structured fixed income products. He was responsible for Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, and Risk Management Oversight. Mr. Chalabi obtained his B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, his M.Sc. in Structural Mechanics and his MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of California at Berkeley.
